SoZo Kids Helps Those in Poverty Through Mentorship Centers

An entrepreneur in The Villages, Florida, David Suleiman headed the fastest growing Johnny Rockets franchise for three consecutive years and continues to oversee restaurants such as Amerikanos Grille in Lady Lake. Alongside his career as a restaurateur and country club owner, David Suleiman gives back to his local community by supporting organizations such as SoZo Kids.

Named after a Greek word meaning to heal, to make whole, to rescue, or to save, SoZo Kids seeks to reach children living in utter poverty within the borders of the Ocala National Forest in Florida. Founded by David Houck, who grew up in such circumstances himself, the organization empowers these children to pursue college studies and rise out of the cycle of poverty through its Turning Point Mentor Centers.

SoZo's Turning Point Mentor Centers serve students in kindergarten through 12th grade. Volunteers staff the centers and assist children by providing them with clean water and snacks and assisting them with homework. The centers supply a safe place for children to come after school with amenities such as heat and running water, essential things that they may not have at home.
